Years ago, when we heard there was going to be another Thor movie, our reaction was eerily similar to this: Photo: Giphy The film’s trailer however, proved all the doubters, including us, wrong. Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok looked unlike any other Marvel movie we had seen before – and we’ve quite literally seen them all. The trailer had us hyped for the movie, and – take our word for it – the final product does not disappoint. The response to the sequel has been fantastic so far, and here’s why we feel this is one of the strongest ...Read Full Post
Guys with ‘man buns’ are oh-so-hot, but Saheefa Jabbar Khattak gets a pixie cut and she loses her appeal and rights as a woman?
What if I told you that an educated Pakistani model, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, was denied entrance into a women’s washroom because of her pixie haircut? Yes, not only were her basic human rights denied, she was also shamed on social media for ‘sacrificing’ her hair length for a photoshoot. #isupportsaheefaA few hours ago, I came across a facebook live video that broke my heart, I mean literally! The newest adaption of Cinderella is doing well so far because its “twist” is that it has no twist. It delivers the story that we are all well aware of all in a refreshingly simple and touching manner, thus distancing itself from the recent slew of angst ridden fairy tale adaptations such as Into the Woods and Maleficent. Directed by Kenneth Branagh – who previously directed Thor – manages to lay the emphasis on creating a magical journey for the viewers, with the addition of resplendent gowns and grand sets certainly making it a visual delight. Newcomer Lily James adds sincerity to her role as Cinderella, and coupled with Richard Madden’s charming portrayal ...Read Full Post
