When people today talk about popular culture icons whose creativity has affected them personally, they speak of stars like Steve Jobs (Apple Inc.), J K Rowling (Harry Potter), Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight series), George R R Martin (A Song of Ice & Fire). But it seems that for many, George Lucas, the man behind Lucasfilm Ltd., isn’t the force he once was. Sometime around the start of the new millennium, my sister and I stumbled upon the internet.  We didn’t have a computer at home back then, and my uncle’s ancient Windows 98 OS used to sit temptingly at his wooden desk every time we visited him. Kung Fu Paindoo

Yesterday, I had another encounter with Disney*: I watched Kung Fu Panda 2. The bits I loved, and I really loved them, were the jokes. So when the Evil King, a peacock with a stainless steel body and lethal blade-feathers, yells exultantly to its minion-wolf: “CALL IN THE WOLVES! All of them! I want them ready to move!
