After the success of Dhamaal and Double Dhamaal, Indra Kumar proved that he knows the art of producing hilarious movies, and now he is back with chapter three of his major hits. The upcoming comedy-adventure, Total Dhamaal, will see Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor paired together yet again.

The on-screen pair of Kapoor and Dixit was the most sought after pairing in the 90s and they will be sharing the screen space after 19 years (their last film was Pukar in 2000). From the trailer, it looks like Dixit is in her usual perfect form and the interactions between the duo are nicely penned. After watching them, it feels like taking a trip down memory lane because they look exactly like they did in their previous movies. It is also a fact that after Sridevi Boney Kapoor, Dixit is the queen of comic timings and we see that in this trailer where her acting naturally flows on the screen.

Interestingly, one of Kumar’s major blockbusters, Beta, also starred Dixit and Kapoor. Here is hoping that the duo still works as his good luck charm!

Total Dhamaal stars the usual suspects of the previous Dhamaal movies: Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffery, Riteish Deshmukh and Sanjay Mishra. Sanjay Dutt, however, is being replaced by the Golmaal star Ajay Devgn.

The trailer of Total Dhamaal is exactly what the movie’s tagline suggests: ‘the wildest adventure ever’. A few scenes from the trailer remind us of the first instalment because it seems that everyone is trying to find some sort of treasure. In the first instalment, it was Prem Chopra who revealed there was some hidden treasure; in this offering, it is Manoj Pahwa who shares the secret of ₹500 million hidden somewhere. There is also one scene where Johnny Lever, Deshmukh and Pitobash Tripathy are in the helicopter which is similar to what we saw in Dhamaal when Asrani, Pahwa and Aashish Chaudhary were in the plane heading to find the treasure. However, what sets it apart is that this time the movie seems to be set in the woods.

The trailer of the movie is loaded with catchy one-liners and rib-tickling humour. The most hilarious part of the trailer is watching the loved brother duo make a comeback. Aadi (Warsi) and Maanay (Jaffery) were the highlight of Dhamaal and in the trailer they are seen doing what they do best – cracking the funniest jokes.

Just like Dhamaal, Total Dhamaal seems to be following the plot of It’s A Mad Mad World (1963). The movie also stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Boman Irani, Rajpal Yadav along with Sonakshi Sinha and Esha Gupta, who are seen performing on item songs in the movie. Even Jackie Shroff’s ‘bhidu’ style voice can be heard on the radio in the trailer. There is also speculation that Aamir Khan may also appear in the movie as a cameo which would be interesting to see since we don’t get to see Khan in these kinds of movies.

With so many entertainers of the industry coming together, one can only expect this movie to be a major hit. Kumar has given us entertaining flicks, including the Masti series, and this movie seems to have all the right ingredients to make it a major laugh riot to be loved by the masses.
