Stranger Things Season 2: The kids are back on their bicycles, and boy are we psyched!

If you were a child in the 1980s, you would surely know how nothing could even come close to beating the sheer thrill of racing bikes with friends through the streets of your neighbourhood, unless you have experienced Stranger ThingsThe kids are back on their bicycles, and boy are we psyched!

Last year’s sleeper hit, along with being a damn good TV series, was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for all of us who had spent their childhood during the 1980s.

Season one left us with some huge questions, so the second season, which later got confirmed, was always a possibility. The new season will premiere this Halloween.

Netflix unveiled the Stranger Things season two teaser during the Super Bowl 2017 and it immediately broke the internet. It’s not even half a minute long, but there are a lot of details packed into the spot to whet our appetite.

Based on the security video shot from the teaser, thanks to my razor sharp eyes, I can now say for certain that the second season is set in 1984, one whole year after the events of season one. The trailer begins with an awesome little wink to Eleven’s favourite food, Eggo waffles, by showing a clip from an actual Eggo commercial that originally aired in the 80s.

Last season left us with Chief Hopper leaving Eggos in the woods, so we did kind of gauge that Eleven is alive. However, the trailer confirms that theory when we get to see her in a bizarrely framed shot with her signature nosebleed.

The trailer also shows us a glimpse of the boys dressed up as Ghostbusters with their weird looking backpacks, and how Chief Hopper seems to have gotten himself into another mess.

We finally have a brand new monster that looks a bit like Louise Bourgeois’s sculpture Maman (mother), and it makes the Demogorgon seem harmless in comparison.

Even though Halloween seems really far away, if the second season is anything like the first one, it will definitely be worth the wait.
