10 reasons why zodiac signs should not change

Not only is the new sign hard to pronounce, what are we supposed to do with all the mugs that have our old signs?

The recently announced change in zodiac signs has caught the world by storm. Interest in the news is not limited to just hardcore followers of astrology.

Ever since the story broke social media has been flooded with protests against the new, thirteenth sign Ophiuchus, as people no longer know what their sign is. If you are wondering which horoscope to read in the morning's paper check out the 'new' astrological signs below.

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

Here's 10 reasons why the zodiac signs should stay the same:

Even Parke Kunkle, the person who made the discovery, is not embracing the new signs.

The change in the format of the newspapers horoscope section and the addition of a thirteenth sign, which is also an odd number.

More work! The need for updating zodiac signs of celebrities everywhere, starting with Wikipedia.

The change in compatibility, since now you are compatible with certain zodiac signs you previously were not compatible with. For a hardcore believer in astrology this means lots of changes.

A change in zodiac personality traits equals to a change in zodiac personality perception, which evidently equals to not-easily-digestible.

Astrologists are still debating the usefulness of the discovery and deciding on whether or not it will even have an impact.

Astrology has lost its credibility, and while there have been issues with the science since its inception, this recent discovery is the final blow.

Many twins are now crabs, many crabs are now lions, and many lions are now virgins and its plain weird.

The thirteenth zodiac sign is hard to pronounce.

What are we to do with all the gifts, mugs, photo frames, and panels having our “old” zodiac signs on them?

Fizza | 13 years ago | Reply I don't like this stuff. Its just too odd. My star sign remains the same but zodiac signs of my 3 siblings changed!! During all these years I kept saying to them that Aquarians are lame but they arent anymore. Ahhh!! And now I'll have to find Virgo celebs all over again.

The zodiac signs were pushed forward. so many virgins are now lions, many lions are now crabs and many crabs are now twins. Pretty darn simple especially with the chart right there!

Blackempress | 13 years ago | Reply As a student of astrology it is plain weird to accept the new sign even if it existed simply because astrology was complete with all the planets pertaining to human psyce n traits so how the hell can a new discovery change what had been perfect inn the first place. Secondly 'planets' affect every single person all over the world. It's not like people born after 2009 have special antennas for catching 'the new planet' effects. If there is more discovery on tis it might b interesting to see if there are "added features" in this line of study.

But anyway, whenever the signs changed, the signs do not change for anyone who was born before that. It's plain common sense. We are given a zodiac sign when we're born, so if they have changed now, they don't change for people who were born 20 years ago! So, I'm still a Leo and so are Madonna, Ben Affleck and Harry Potter!

As in Numerology the numbers you were born with never change and all name changes and frequencies that are simply added to your birth information. They are new lessons we are now ready to take on. faraz | 13 years ago | Reply When Greeks discovered this pseudo science, they believed that earth is flat and all stars revolve around the earth. 2500 years later, shouldnt we focus on time-space curve and relativity?

sajjad ali | 13 years ago | Reply The new sign, Serpentarius (#Ophiuchus), only affected those born from 2009 onwards. If you were born before, your sign is the same.
