Something has happened in Lahore

A team has come showing great valour, yes it’s not a big one nor the big ‘four’, but something has happened in Lahore

The air is filled with a thunderous roar,

A new ray of hope can been seen on shore,

People have come out like never before,

Something has happened in Lahore.

The balls have been bowled,

Cricket is in all its galore,

Something has happened in Lahore.

The barren grounds finally see joy,

The fabled heroes have alas stepped on our home soil,

The knocks of Afridi have come back to life,

Something has happened in Lahore.

The charms of Ahmed Shehzad,

Lightning bolts of Mukhtar Ahmed,

Zimbabweans didn’t disappoint either,

Everyone was cheered, from Chigumbura to Professor.

Something has happened in Lahore.

There are old and young alike,

Generations who don’t want to miss this sight,

This craze-fest has taken everyone on-board,

Something has happened in Lahore.

A magic has taken everyone by storm,

Some call it a mere illusion,

Some a miracle,

Something has happened in Lahore.

A team has come to our grounds showing great valour,

Yes it’s not a big one nor the big ‘four’,

But something has happened in Lahore.

This city which has served all,

Was the victim of a curse that once shook its core,

But now it is serving cricket once more,

Something has happened in Lahore.

This is entertainment in its pure,

Some may still be feeling unsure,

But cricket has finally come home,

Something has happened In Lahore.
