Beyond: Two Souls is not just a video game, it's a gamer's paradise!

The action sequences and realistic movements are so captivating that it keeps you on the edge of your couch throughout

I’ve been playing video games for as long as I can remember. My passion for video games started with the old Atari’s and Sega Genesis, and has now moved to PC games and PlayStation 3 (PS3).

I’ve played many video games; you name it and I’ve played it. But the game I just finished ‘Beyond: Two Souls’ was just something else. This game kept me at the edge of my couch throughout the whole time I was playing it.

Developed by Quantic Dreams and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc (SCEI), it is a PS3 exclusive game which released in September 2013.

The story revolves around the life events of a girl, Jodie Holmes, who is born with a gift (or curse at times) of possessing two souls; one which is her own and the other which is linked to a ghost named Aiden.  Aiden has been with her since birth, even when she went on to become a rouge CIA Agent. Her whole life she has been trying to find out why she was born with two souls.

Homes is originally played by Ellen Page, star of JunoInception and X-Men: The Last Stand, using voice acting and motion capture performance, which made the game more realistic, authentic and emerging.

Quantic Dreams is known for designing facial expressions with so much precision that it makes the game look much more realistic than any other game; most of the time it seemed like I was watching a movie rather than playing a game. In fact, so many times people crossing by would ask me which movie I was watching until I would pause the game and show them the controller.

The movements of this game are so easy and smooth that you don’t have to be a hard-core gamer to play it. Even a newbie or an amateur player can play this game and have the same amount of fun.

This game has some serious heart-pounding action sequences, especially, when Holmes would go for her rogue CIA missions. The drama and thrilling sequences are so captivating that I played it for three consecutive days, until I finally finished it!

I dried two controller batteries while playing it. After draining the life out of my controllers, I continued playing the game with my Beyond Touch app, a free app for iOS and Android devices that allows you to play the game using either a smart-phone or tablet, instead of a controller.

So if you are a PS3 owner, this game is a definite play for you. In fact, I guarantee that you’ll be so hooked on to this gamer’s paradise, that you’ll never forget it and will want to play it again and again.

Ukhan | 10 years ago | Reply Heavy Rain raised my expectations too much... anyways there can never be another Heavy Rain until David Cage gets his head right. In my opinion Beyond two souls was just a celebrity fail
