It is a bitter fact in our country that if you expose the corruption record of any influential entity then you must be ready to face the dire consequences. During my journalistic career spanning 15 years, I too have received several threats from state and non-state actors alike. CNG blasts: Too many deaths

Following recent incidents involving CNG cylinders exploding in public transport vehicles in Punjab and Sindh, in which dozens of innocent people lost their lives, the authorities have finally woken up from their slumber. A recommendation has now been presented before the federal government to completely ban the use of CNG cylinders in buses and vans. The ministry of petroleum and natural resources has given a deadline of one week to owners of vehicles that use CNG to ensure that the cylinders that they have installed comply with safety guidelines. Robbing the people

Despite a lapse of several years and despite the country’s apex court having taken several suo motu notices (of various cases), corruption as well as cheating the public at large continues. Also, by and large, several cases are pending with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and there seems to be little progress on them. Ordinary citizens expect NAB and the FIA to do their jobs and ensure that those involved in such cases are convicted and that at least some of the money embezzled from the national exchequer is duly returned.
